The Tenerife Energy Agency, AIET, in collaboration with ASHOTEL, Association of Hoteliers of Tenerife, and with the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies, ITER, is promoting the HOTEL-FV initiative.
The HOTEL-FV initiative aims to provide the hotel companies with a tool to make the roof’s surface of its establishment profitable by installing a photovoltaic generation system. Through such initiatives, the Agency fulfils its objectives that include the promotion of new energy technologies’ development as well as the guidance for companies on how to improve energy efficiency in their processes and facilities.
To carry out this initiative, AIET has two institutions that have a direct involvement in it and also join its management board. On the one hand, ITER that has a wide experience in the promotion, sale and production of renewable energy and is responsible for almost 50% of installed photovoltaic capacity in the Canary Islands and, on the other hand, ASHOTEL for the important work developed in the hotel sector of Tenerife since its founding.
This initiative provides an opportunity for resorts in Tenerife to commit to the improvement of the energy scenery of Tenerife by promoting zero CO2 emission energy generation systems, obtaining other benefits for its business as:
