After having checked the installations of Peru, El Salvador and Paraguay during the las month of May, two teams of experts form ITER will go back to South America. THe team, which is responsible for the in-situ verification of 12 of the installalations in Guatemala, is in the country since the 5th of July and has already made the in-situ verification of all the planned installations. Meanwhile, the technicians who carried out this work in Bolivia will leave next Monday for la Paz, with the aim of verifying 9 of the 59 facilities provided in this country within the EURO-SOLAR Programme.
The teams
are made up of an electricity expert and a computer expert. The team will not
only be in charge of the verification of the systems during their visit, but will
also train the staff in charge of the Technical Assistance of the programme and
the National Coordination Cells so that they are able to make the verifications
needed in the rest of the installations of the country.
The eight
most disadvantaged countries of Latin America will benefit from this program,
where 600 installations will be set up: 117 in Guatemala,
48 in El Salvador, 68 in Honduras, 42 in Nicaragua,
91 in Ecuador, 130 in Peru,
59 in Bolivia and 45 in Paraguay. ITER
will verify in-situ at least 10 % of these installations and has developed the
link page http://instalaciones.programaeuro-solar.eu for the tracking and the remote control verifications
of the installations. As can be seen in this link page, works are being carried
out in 328 of these installations, from which 213 are ready for the
verification process and 20 have already been verified and considered to be
finished.
ITER´s staff
carries out their visits hosted by the country’s European Commission
delegation, by technicians in charge of the Technical Assistance of the program
and technicians from the ministries that coordinate the project in each
country.
The EuroSolar
program is an initiative organized by the European Commission’s EuropeAid
Cooperation Office. The main goal of the Programme is to foster the use of
renewable energies as part of a drive towards human development. This project
will provide communities with electricity generation systems and energy storage
from renewable sources. Further information about the programme is available in
the Programme´s web page, www.programaeuro-solar.eu and in www.iter.es.
