The Regional Ministry of Employment, Industry and Energy Efficiency has resolved the call of grants to solar thermal energy installations for the year 2009, and has extended the deadline for the execution of the installations. The resolution has been published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands nº 145 of July 26, 2010 and can be consulted in the following link (only in Spanish) http://www.gobiernodecanarias.org/boc/2009/142/012.htmlThe beneficiaries of the grants are listed in the annex I of the resolution, in which also is indicated the action to be executed, the amount of the grant and the evaluation. Moreover, the resolutions modifies the deadline for the execution and justification that have been extended until November 30, 2010.

Empower is an eParticipation Trial Project co-funded by the European Commission under the EU eParticipation Preparatory Action. eMPOWER is aiming to motivate and strengthen the involvement of NGOs and citizens in the decision-making process on environmental issues at a National and European level by providing method and tools for supporting citizens’ participation and collection of signatures to promote relevant public initiatives and demands of civil society.

After having checked the installations of Peru, El Salvador and Paraguay during the las month of May, two teams of experts form ITER will go back to South America. THe team, which is responsible for the in-situ verification of 12 of the installalations in Guatemala, is in the country since the 5th of July and has already made the in-situ verification of all the planned installations. Meanwhile, the technicians who carried out this work in Bolivia will leave next Monday for la Paz, with the aim of verifying 9 of the 59 facilities provided in this country within the EURO-SOLAR Programme.

The Regional Ministry of Employment, Industry and Energy Efficiency has published the call of grants for energy saving measures and energy audits in municipal facilities, within the frame of the Order of June the 17st , 2010.

  The Tenerife Energy Agency, AIET, in collaboration with ASHOTEL, Association of Hoteliers of Tenerife, and with the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies, ITER, is promoting the HOTEL-FV initiative.

With today's adoption in Parliament, the directive has been formally adopted and is expected to be published in the Official Journal in June. A political agreement between the Member States in the Council and the Parliament had already been reached on 18 November 2009. Member States will have one year to transpose it into national legislation.

Following the success of last year's activities, AIET participate this year with an event during the second edition of the European Solar Days that will be held in Spain promoted by the union of the solar associations, ASIT (Solar Thermal Energy’s Association), ASIF (Photovoltaic Industry’s Association) and Protermo SOLAR (Spanish Association of Solar Thermoelectric Industry).

For fourth consecutive year, the Energy Agency of Tenerife organizes this event, in which participants can enjoy a day filled with activities related with renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change. It will take place on July 18th, during the Eolica Festival 2009, and is organised in collaboration with ITER, which in the same day holds its Open Door Day.

The Ministry of Industry has determined the pre-assignation procedure for the PV installation retributions of the call corresponding to the first trimester of the year 2009: 392 applications registered.

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce announced the IDAE Grants Program to promote the use of energy efficient lamps, within the Action Plan 2008-2012 of the Strategy for Energy Saving and Efficiency in Spain (E4).

Registration is a pre-requisite in order to allocate the retributions to the facilities that find themselves in the project stage or have been completed since last September 29th.

The Energy Agency of Tenerife has added to the Thermal Industry Solar Association’s (ASIT) initiative of organizing for the first time in Spain the European Days of Solar Energy during the week from May 12 to the 18 of 2008.

On the occasion of the commemoration of World Health Day (April 7), on Saturday April 5, Santa Ursula Municipality celebrated a Fair called “Human Health Protection against the Climate Change”, theme chosen by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the 2008 edition.

Call for grants to actions that promote energy saving and efficiency.

    The Tenerife Energy Agency (AIET) attended to the International Energy Conference, “RE-island conference-10 years status” that was hold the 4th and 5th of October in Samsø island (Denmark).

The city of Tarragona will hold, next October 16th and 17th the “Energy networks in sustainable cities” POLYCITY Conference to share the knowledge of the different CONCERTO projects on polygeneration updating o the latest development on the use of key technologies.

This energy event will be celebrate during the "Eólica festival" (Wind Energy festival) at the Technological and Renewable Energy Institute located in the island of Tenerife. This festival will take place on Saturday the 14th of July 2007 and will offer the opportunity to celebrate the programmed activities of the Energy event with a great number of citizens, over 15.000 persons come and participate in the Festival every year.

The European Wind Day is celebrated on 15 June. The AEIT, in collaboration with ITER, will carry out an open-doors Day in Granadillas wind farm.

This exciting new online competition for school children across Europe has been launched by the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and Transport under the ManagEnergy initiative.

The next 6th of March, it will take place in AIET headquarters the first coordination meeting between the Energy Agencies of Tenerife, the island of Samsø (Denmark), and Iceland.
